Dryers and Actors (2004-07-09 - 12:40 p.m.)

We bought a new dryer last night.

The kind that dries clothes.

A late night trip to Home Depot.

We were going to have it delivered, and Christi was possibly going to have to miss the Comic Convention in Richardson that we are going to tomorrow. More about that in a minute.

But this morning, she looked at the connection and, lo, it was the same as the cord on the dryer we were getting (floor display, last one, etc.). So...we decided that we would go pick the thing up this evening and just do it ourselves, since connecting the fool cord was the only real "installation" involved.

Ha.

I'm surprising her.

I went and got it this morning.

Took the back seat out of the van.

Got the dryer.

Unhooked and drug the old dryer out of the laundry room.

Unloaded the new one and drug it into the laundry room.

Hooked up the cord and the snaky vent hose thingy.

All by myself, thank you very much. (Except the two guys at HD that loaded it into the van.)

Already dried a load of clothes. YAY!!

Now, about that ComicCon. Tomorrow in Richardson is the annual Comic Convention of whatever outfit that does it each year up there. Last year it was in Plano. That's close to Richardson for those of you who live in another country besides Texas.

Guests for this convention are:

Billy Dee Williams from Star Wars (Lando Calrissian)

Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca)

Marina Sirtis (Troi from Star Trek TNG)

Bob Picardo (holographic doctor from Star Trek--was it DS9??)

John Kassir (Voice of the Cryptkeeper)

John Noble (Denethor from LotR)

And lastly, but most importantly (ie, the reason we are going) is the wife of John Kassir.

Hahahah...otherwise known as Julie Benz!!

Yessiree, boys and girls, Darla is coming to Dallas! Woohoo.

That's Darla from Buffy/Angel for those of you living under a rock in some other country besides Earth.

Autographs galore. Probably dollars galore, too. Oh, well. Only costs 10 Georges to get in.

Must go sleep now.

Bye.
