Baseball season is well under way, now (well a week, anyway) and the Rangers finally decided to start playing.
After losing three straight to the Los Angeles California Anaheim Orange County Angels. Did I get all their names in there??
Three straight games that they lost their best centerfielder to because Rangers owner Tom Hicks is too stingy to pay any players.
Anyway...on opening day in Arlington, the Rangers finally won a game.
Unfortunately, that was against the Boston Red Sox. My other favorite team. Shut them out, even. Oh, well. I guess every team needs to win their home opener, eh?
Stephanie and I went to tonight's game, but left during the second inning. Why, you ask? I'll tell you.
It was thirty-freakin'-eight degrees at game-time, that's why! Holy CRAP!!! Officially the coldest starting time temperature in Rangers history! And we were there.
When we left, it was 2-0 Red Sox, but while we were leaving the area and listening on the radio, the Rangers rallied and scored 4 runs in the bottom of the third inning. The Sox scored again in the sixth, so it is currently 4-3 in the bottom of the sixth.
The Evil Empire won 10-7 against Baltimore because A-Roid hit a walkoff grand slam home run. Pft. So if the Rangers win tonight, the Sox and the Yanks will be tied, both behind....the Devil Rays??? THE DEVIL RAYS?????
Hah!
Oops. Rangers just scored again. Now 5-3. Incidentally....OH, CRAP! Sammy Sosa just hit a home run. 6-3.
Now, as I was saying. In the third inning tonight, the Rangers scored more runs than they have scored in any game this year.
Well, I'm glad to see the Rangers playing well, at least, even if they had to start against the Red Sox.
One thing that they have started this year that I absolutely hate, though. They have this group of young girls they are calling "The Six-Shooters." They throw t-shirts into the stands between innings.
BASEBALL DOES NOT NEED CHEERLEADERS! Tom Hicks has finally lost his marbles. It's just wrong.
Oh, well. I'll sign off and listen to the rest of this massacre.
TTFN, y'all.
Oh, yes. Blessings on your back surgery next Tuesday, Sandyz. I'll be praying for you!
