A Call for Jeremiah Wright's Congregation To Shut Him Up!!! (April 30, 2008 - 5:58 p.m.) I know the odds of anyone that this is addressed to reading this are slim, but I'm saying it, anyway. If there are any true "Christians" in Jeremiah Wright's "church," they should be demanding that he SHUT UP and step down. No true preacher of the Gospel of Christ would be saying the things that he is saying. Don't get me wrong. I would be among the first to admit that our country has done some sorry things. And maybe our country does deserve God's judgment. But it's not based on any "racial" issues. God doesn't care about race. God does care about how we treat each other, though, as evidenced by his commands that we take care of the widows and orphans. But if Wright (and I refuse to call him "Reverend") continues to spout off the drivel from his "pulpit" and no one in his "church" tries to shut him up, then I have to assume that there are no Christians in his "church," which makes it only a convention center. Obama is right to condemn Wright's actions and words. But it's a little too late. The damage is done. It's not too late for the people of his congregation, though. Someone needs to step up and shut him up. The big question is...who, in this picture, is the real bigot? 1 comments so farMissed anything? |
