On Thursday, June 21, we had a tour conducted by a retired cop who worked in the area of Sonoma county. He drove us around for about six hours in his big van and showed us lots of different places.
One of the places that we stopped was on the outskirts of Bodega Bay, a charming little town that is kind of like the first of many north of San Francisco.
Anyway, we stopped at what is called "Bodega Head." It ends at a nice bluff overlooking the ocean with, once again, lots of large rocks and crashing waves.
Something very awesome happened while we were standing up there. A flock (?) of pelicans flew by. I believe this was the first time I have ever seen wild pelicans. I've probably seen one or two at a zoo somewhere, but this was a first. Someone had alerted us that they were coming, so I readied the camera and managed to get this shot.
I didn't realize how good it came out until we got home and got the pictures downloaded to the 'puter. Wow. This digital camera is pretty amazing.
More pictures later.
