We had another pretty good day for Stephanie!
I successfully dropped her off at the back entrance this morning, right about 8:00am.
When I picked her up this afternoon, Mr. Reynolds was waiting with her at the back door. He told me that she got a little nervous a couple of times, today, but they figured out that the stairs were causing her some anxiety, and gave her an elevator pass. My hope is that she will eventually overcome this anxiety and learn to use the stairs, as she could certainly use the exercise! But I'm glad that they are so willing to work with her on this.
He also told me that she was going to try to make it to some classes tomorrow. They are going to "play it by ear" to see how she does.
We got through yesterday with no struggles at all, and so far today has been the same. Praise God for that!!
We are on track for her appointment with the autism doctor for next Thursday. I got copies of all of her diagnostics from our family doctor this afternoon. We are all very excited about this (in spite of the fact that I may have to sell an arm or a leg to pay for the sessions...) and have great hope that this doctor might provide us with some much needed relief.
Best of all, Stephanie has sounded HAPPY for two days now. In fact, after talking to her this morning about the Rangers' stunning 19-6 victory over the Orioles last night, her mother was literally in tears.
We hope that this lasts a while.
TTFN, y'all!
