Last night we had an amazing, new and unique experience. Christi and I went to eat at a place we had heard about called "Chef's Pointe Cafe." Reviews about the restaurant have been glowing. A local columnist in the Star Telegram even wrote about it.
It's in a convenience store.
I'm not joking.
It's in a Conoco convenience store.
Really.
We walked in and saw first thing a wipe board with daily specials on it. Blackened rib-eye steak with roasted potatoes and veggies. $10.99. I don't remember what else was on the special board. I had the blackened rib-eye. Christi got a New York Strip steak stuffed with Canadian bacon and cheddar cheese (same veggies), and for an appetizer we had a crab cake. Everything was "antsolutely delish." (Blatant plug for Kingdom Hospital...) The steaks were every bit as good as anything I have had at a place like Chili's or any other regular restaurant. Fine dining...
in a convenience store.
Oh, yes...when we left...
There wasn't an empty table in the place.
Who'da thunk it?
